U.S. Chief Information Officer Tony Scott got quite the surprise June 15 when he walked into the Newseum in Washington, D.C., to outline his plan for updating and replacing billions of dollars’ worth of outdated Federal computing systems.
As Scott arrived to give a keynote speech to a packed room of industry and government IT executives at the 2016 Cloud Computing Brainstorm, hosted by MeriTalk, the room greeted him with a call to support the #GreatScott campaign—a petition to keep Scott in position as Federal CIO through the transition of presidential administrations.
In the following video, Scott recalls his time working with the legendary Steve Jobs during Disney’s acquisition of Pixar Animation Studios, outlines his plan for modernizing the government’s aging IT infrastructure, and offers the possibility of staying in the CIO role longer.
Vicki Zagaria, Federal industry manager at Intel Corp., introduces Scott.
