The Securities and Exchange Commission announced Thursday that CIO Pamela Dyson will leave the agency to become executive vice president, head of the Technology Group, and CIO at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. “Pam’s leadership and experience have been critical to maintaining the information technology capabilities we need to fulfill our mission while ensuring we address ever-evolving cyber threats,” said SEC Chairman Jay Clayton in a statement. SEC CTO Charles Riddle will step in to replace Dyson, serving as acting CIO. Dyson’s departure marks the second major cybersecurity figure to announce their departure from the SEC this week. On Wednesday, the SEC also announced that Christopher R. Hetner, senior advisor to Clayton for Cybersecurity Policy, will leave the agency following the transition period for a successor yet to be named.
