Rep. Robin Kelly, D-Ill., has been appointed to the House Oversight and Reform Committee (ORC), formerly known as the Oversight and Government Reform Committee (OGR). Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., announced the news last night. Kelly, who served on the committee in the last Congress, had to request a waiver to serve on ORC due to her appointment to the Energy and Commerce Committee. Kelly previously served as the ranking member of the OGR IT subcommittee, where she focused on IT modernization, cybersecurity, and digital access legislation. The IT subcommittee has since been absorbed into Subcommittee on Government Operations. “I’m a good government person,” Kelly said in a statement. “I’m interested in the little details that could save billions in taxpayer dollars and I’m extremely proud of the record that I’ve established on this committee. As Chairman Cummings and Democrats assume the gavel and do the work of the American people to hold this Administration accountable, I look forward to playing a leading role in that effort.”
