The Department of Defense (DoD) is looking for education providers in the cybersecurity and technology arenas to apply to the agency’s Cyber Workforce Qualification Program to receive accreditation through the Defense Department.
The program – created by the Cyber Workforce Management Board (CWMB) – “established an open and continuous process available for interested certification, training, and academic degree providers supporting elements of the DoD Cyber Workforce,” the Pentagon said.
The process to gain accreditation consists of a four steps, with each part capturing key information about what the educational providers have to offer while also allowing providers to add self-evaluation and comments.
“Prior to the decision to nominate a certification, training, or other offering for consideration for the DoD Cyber Workforce, the provider should analyze and compare the certification and/or training exam proficiency level to the DCWF [DoD Cyber Workforce Framework] knowledge, skills, abilities, and tasks (KSATs) that are designated as ‘core’ for that work role,” stated the DoD.
Types of organizations and institutions that the DoD is looking for include colleges, universities, private companies, nonprofit organizations, federal and state organizations, and military schools.
