As the Trump Administration winds down over the next couple months, President-elect Joe Biden and his transition team have begun appointing agency transition leads to ensure a smooth transition of power.

“These teams are composed of highly experienced and talented professionals with deep backgrounds in crucial policy areas across the Federal government,” the Biden-Harris Transition Team website says. “The teams have been crafted to ensure they not only reflect the values and priorities of the incoming administration, but reflect the diversity of perspectives crucial for addressing America’s most urgent and complex challenges.”

Transition team leads have been named for the following major agencies and departments:

Department of Commerce

  • Geovette Washington, most recently with the University of Pittsburgh

Department of Defense

  • Kath Hicks, most recently with the Center for Strategic and International Studies

Department of Energy

  • Arun Majumdar, most recently with Stanford University

Department of Health and Human Services

  • Chiquita Brooks-LaSure, most recently with Manatt, Phelps and Phillps, LLP
  • Robert Gordon, most recently with the Department of Health and Human Services for the State of Michigan
