Air Force Proceeding with Headquarters Restructuring

The U.S. Air Force is moving forward with its planned restructuring its headquarters’ information technology, cyber, and intelligence operations, according to an interview between Undersecretary Matt Donovan and Federal News Network on Wednesday. The offices of its deputy chief of staff for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (A2) will merge with its offices of its deputy chief of staff for Information Dominance (A6). The Air Force has planned to nominate the current A2 chief of staff, Lt. Gen. VeraLinn Jamieson, to lead the new combined office. Air Force chief of staff Gen. David Goldfein first suggested the restructuring in August 2018 to tighten integration of decision making.
