The National Institutes of Health (NIH) – a research component of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) – National Eye Institute (NEI) has tapped Kevin Chu to serve as deputy chief information officer (CIO) according to his LinkedIn profile.

As the newly appointed deputy CIO, Chu will play a pivotal role in overseeing high-level management of the digital strategy at NIH NEI.

Prior to being named deputy CIO, Chu served as a VIP support personnel at the NIH National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research for a year. Additionally, he was a project manager at LCG, Inc. for 10 months, and a desktop support manager for around three years.

Chu also has experience as a project coordinator for Occam Solutions, Inc. for over two years, and a desktop manager for over a year at Agrotech Corp.

Chu holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and computer science information systems from the University of Maryland.
