Individuals and teams from the U.S. military service branches took home top prizes in the fifth annual President’s Cup Cybersecurity Competition organized by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), CISA announced on April 19.
Army Major Nolan Miles won the Track A portion of the competition, which focuses on defensive work roles and tasks. Marine Corps Staff Sergeant Michael Torres won the B Track competition, which focuses on offensive work roles and tasks.
Artificially Intelligent – a group comprised of members of the Department of Defense (DoD), U.S. Army, and the U.S. Air Force – won the team competition.
“This competition is an exciting way to highlight the talents of cybersecurity professionals throughout the U.S. government and military, and these competitors showcased the depth of talent we have in this important field,” said CISA Director Jen Easterly.
This year’s competition hosted over 1,421 individuals, and nearly 312 teams. The competition is open to the Federal civilian workforce and members of the armed services.
“Congratulations to all the participants and winners – your prowess and passion are pivotal in shaping the cybersecurity landscape and protecting our nation,” Easterly said.
