White House Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Michael Kratsios confirmed on Twitter that the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) has promoted Lynne Parker and Winter Casey to the positions of deputy CTO.

“I am thrilled to name Winter Casey and Dr. Lynne Parker as Deputy U.S. CTOs,” Kratsios tweeted. “Given their expertise and impressive track record, I know they will do an exceptional job driving American leadership in technology,” he said.

Casey most recently served as assistant director for international affairs and senior advisor for technology policy at the White House. Prior to joining the White House, Casey was senior advisor for internet policy at the Department of Commerce.

Parker was also promoted from within OSTP, having most recently been assistant director for artificial intelligence (AI). Her LinkedIn notes that she “is detailing to OSTP from her position as Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.”

The office of the CTO has seen significant leadership changes in recent months. Kratsios, who was previously deputy director of OSTP, was confirmed as CTO on Aug. 1. He was the first CTO for the Trump administration; the position was vacant for the first two years of Trump’s term.
