During a press briefing today, White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the Trump administration is considering other options to fund construction of a border wall along the U.S. southern border, other than through the President’s standing demand for $5 billion in funding from Congress for that purpose. Border wall funding has been a sticking point between Congress and the administration, and President Trump has threatened a partial government shutdown on Friday if agreement cannot be reached. “We’re looking at the other options. In the meantime, we’ll see what the Senate does,” said Sanders. “We’re looking at every avenue available to use possible. The President has asked every one of his cabinet secretaries to look for funding that can be used to protect our borders,” she added.
