The U.S. Department of Agriculture Digital Service (USDA DS) is launching – along with the agency’s Office of Customer Experience (OCX) – a new fellowship that will help recruit some of the brightest minds for digital service delivery, procurement, and customer experience work at the agency.
The fellowship – titled the Digital Service Fellows Program – will function on a tour-of-service model where fellows will be allowed to work on a minimum two-year basis, and with the possibility of being able to work up to four years.
“The Fellows program will allow us to act as firefighters and assign our best people to the hottest problems within USDA,” said Gary Washington, the agency’s chief information officer (CIO).
“It will give us the opportunity to have subject matter experts on hand without waiting for the hiring or contracting process, which means we can start right away in solving the challenge and continuing to provide outstanding customer service to those we serve,” Washington said.
Program fellows will be allowed to work remotely or in Washington, D.C., and will report to the OCIO Digital Service team.
Interested individuals are encouraged to apply on the agency fellow’s site.
