University of South Florida has a new offering for current students and alumni. Thanks to a partnership with Virginia-based tech company Revature, students and alumni can participate in an online coding boot camp for free.

All interested USF students and alumni can enroll in RevaturePro Online, which is designed for all skill levels, from beginner to advanced and it teaches front-end development languages, such as Microsoft.NET and Java, through guided projects and assessments. The program is perfect for students carrying a full course load and busy professionals because students progress through the program at their own pace.

“Coding shouldn’t be difficult to learn,” said Joe Mitchell, Revature’s senior vice president of Academic Partnerships. “RevaturePro breaks down accessibility and financial barriers so USF students and graduates from any academic background can gain the skills needed to break into a rewarding career in software development. Our hope is that student interest in this program will grow over time, leading to an on-campus boot camp to make the immersive program even more accessible.”

Students with a deeper interest in STEM careers also have the possibility of taking part in RevaturePro Bootcamp, a 12-week intensive coding boot camp that takes place at Revature’s Reston, Va., office. Alumni who have either completed the online program or hold STEM degrees are guaranteed an interview for the boot camp. If selected, the boot camp is free and housing and a weekly living stipend is provided.
