The U.S. Treasury Department has tapped Todd Conklin to be the agency’s new chief artificial intelligence officer and deputy assistant secretary cyber, according to his LinkedIn account.

In his new roles, Conklin will assist in developing AI technology implementation across the department and help oversee the integration of good AI practices throughout the agency.

“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer and Deputy Assistant Secretary Cyber at the U.S. Department of the Treasury,” stated Conklin in a LinkedIn post.

Before taking up his new positions, Conklin served in various roles at the Treasury Department including deputy assistant secretary for cyber threat intelligence (CTI) and as a counselor to the deputy secretary.

Conklin also served at the U.S. Secret Service for almost as an Investigator and as an intelligence officer at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).
