The Smithsonian Institute is looking for a new Head of Digital Transformation to develop and execute a digital transformation strategy for the institution.

The Smithsonian is a trust instrumentality of the United States and is the world’s largest museum, education, and research complex, according to its website.

“The head of digital transformation will be expected to conceptualize and execute an institutional digital transformation strategy, integrate and prioritize ongoing digital initiatives, ensure new and innovative ideas are considered and acted upon, and target a handful of key cultural and structural reforms needed to support a truly ‘One Smithsonian’ digital approach,” the job description on USAJobs.gov reads.

Job duties for the position include using customer data to improve audience experience across all touchpoints, auditing digital resources, helping to improve digital skills of Smithsonian employees, prioritizing the digitization process of resources, such as “K-12 educational resources, advancing signature pan-institutional programs around race and community, and conservation research,” among other duties.

The position is based out of the Smithsonian Institution’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. with remote working flexibility. Applications for the post are due Feb. 3.
