Small Business Feeling Shutdown Effects

The shutdown is having adverse effects on as many as 41,000 small businesses, as well as affecting revenue streams, executive VP and chief policy officer at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Neil Bradley told reporters on a call Thursday. Small government contractors have lost $2.3 billion in revenue in the past 34 days since the shutdown started, with another $29 billion at risk if the shutdown continues, Bradley said. The Chamber of Congress delivered a letter today to President Trump and Congress urging the reopening of the government to prevent laying off employees or going out of business.
