Deputy National Cyber Director (NCD) for Technology and Ecosystem Security Camille Stewart Gloster will be departing her White House post on Tuesday, an NCD spokesperson confirmed to MeriTalk today.
It is not clear where Stewart Gloster will head next after she steps down on April 9.
Stewart Gloster has been at the Office of the National Cyber Director (ONCD) since August 2022, following a stint as Google’s global head of product security strategy. Her only other cyber work in the Federal government includes more than a year as the senior policy advisor for international cyber and critical infrastructure at the Department of Homeland Security.
During her tenure at ONCD, Stewart Gloster played a major role in building the National Cyber Workforce and Education Strategy released in July 2023.
“We must support the development of a strong cyber workforce,” Stewart Gloster said at the time of the strategy’s release. “That cyber workforce has to meet the demand that we have all heard about in filling hundreds of thousands of cyber jobs vacancies – that’s a national security imperative, an economic imperative, a human security imperative. But it also is an opportunity for good paying jobs – good paying, middle-class jobs.”
ONCD still has not publicly released an implementation plan for the workforce strategy, but the office provided workers, educators, employers, and government each a guidance sheet with resources and actions they can take to bolster their cyber workforce.
The cyber workforce is a topic close to Stewart Gloster. She is also the co-founder of #ShareTheMicInCyber, which aims to highlight the need for increased diversity in the cyber field.

During her tenure, Camille helped author and drive the early implementation of the National Cyber Workforce and Education Strategy, championed our work to build products that are secure by design, and has been a leader building pathways and ensuring that more Americans feel welcomed and seen in our nation’s growing cyber workforce,” ONCD Director Harry Coker said in a statement. “She serves as an inspiration to many members of the cybersecurity community and we are grateful for her service.”
