The National Institutes of Health (NIH) part of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has created a new website that aims at helping keep track of Covid-19 data from at-home tests.

MakeMyTestCount.org simplifies how people can use the website to keep track of positive cases of covid by simply allowing people to click on the website links that allow people to confirm their at-home test came out positive.

One of the premier approaches to this website is how the information provided will help de-identify individuals while allowing them to keep track of covid numbers across the U.S.

“We don’t ask for any specific personal information such as your name, date of birth, or street address. Instead, we ask for general information such as age and home ZIP code,” stated the website.

The program is a part of the Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics (RADx) initiative, which focused on speeding up “innovation in the development, commercialization, and implementation of technologies for COVID-19 testing. Accurate, fast, easy-to-use, and widely accessible testing is required before the nation can safely return to normal life,” according to the website.
