President Taps Maguire to Head Counterterrorism Center

President Trump has sent to the Senate the nomination of Joseph Maguire to be director of the National Counterterrorism Center in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. He retired from the Navy as a vice admiral in 2010 and since then has been president of the Special Operations Warriors Foundation.

White House Creates Quantum Information Science Subcommittee

The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) said on June 22 that the White House’s National Science and Technology Council has created a new subcommittee on Quantum Information Science (QIS) to focus on “Federal coordination of QIS policy and programs across the U.S. government.” The new subcommittee will be co-chaired by OSTP, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the Department of Energy, and the National Science Foundation.
