The Biden Administration announced that Matthew Wiegmann will serve as senior advisor for technology and delivery at the Treasury Department.
Wiegmann joins the Federal government after a lengthy career working for political campaigns. Most recently Wiegmann served as technology chief of staff for the Presidential Inaugural Committee. He also ran IT operations for Biden for President during the 2020 campaign season. Before the 2020 election cycle, he worked as a senior systems engineer for the 2016 Hillary for America campaign.
Before joining political campaigns, Wiegmann was a satellite systems engineer at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in Antarctica. He also served in the U.S. Army from 2004 to 2010, completing two overseas tours in Iraq. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of North Texas.
