Air Force Awards Contracts to Support CHES
Dell EMC, General Dynamics, and Microsoft have been awarded a $1 billion five-year U.S. Air Force contract to support a Cloud Hosted Enterprise Services (CHES) program. The program improves efficiency and agility, encourages innovation, and generates cost savings across the Air Force’s information technology enterprise. The Enterprise-as-a-Service program will serve up to 776,000 users in the Air Force, Defense Logistics Agency, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the award is largest ever Federal cloud-based unified communications and collaboration contract.
Intel, Waymo Team Up on Self-Driving Tech
Intel announced Sept. 18 that it has partnered with Waymo to provide sensor processing, general compute, and connectivity for Google’s self-driving vehicle technology. Intel said that the combination of technology expertise would eventually enable fully autonomous cars.
