The House of Representatives is in the market for a new chief information security officer (CISO) to lead the legislative chamber’s cybersecurity efforts on behalf of its 10,000 members, staff, and officers.

According to a job posting on USAJOBS, the CISO will be responsible for leading, implementing, and operating the House cybersecurity program; as well as maintaining and updating a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy that ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the House’s information systems and resources.

Applicants interested in the position must also “communicate the value of security to the organization to protect its reputational and data integrity,” the post reads.

The CISO will work under the House Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), which provides operations support services and business solutions to House members, officers, and staff.

“The ideal candidate is a thought leader, a consensus builder, and builder of bridges between the cybersecurity office, its policies, and strategy with the members, committees, and leadership offices at the House, as well as with the other legislative branch agencies and oversight committees,” the post reads.

To be considered for the position, applicants must respond by or before September 29.
