The Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) awarded the $207 million Next Generation Information Technology Services (NGITS) Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA). Featuring six prime contract holders, this agreement will support a wide range of IT services, including end-of-life support for outdated technology, implementation of new technologies, and customer support initiatives.
Under the contract ActioNet, CSRA, Leidos, NuAxis, Peraton, and SAIC will compete for business.
“This award represents another great step forward in our efforts to provide shared services and cost-effective information technology support as a part of the HHS mission to improve the well-being of all Americans,” said George Chambers, the executive director of the Information Technology Infrastructure and Operations at HHS.
HHS is using the new BPA in part to restructure its call center. The agency assigned this first task to SAIC. The proposed overhaul will redirect the customer support and help desk queries that the center receives to the relevant experts, cutting down customer wait time.
