The General Services Administration’s 18F organization will begin seeking applications for a new GS-15-Executive Director on Nov. 18. 18F is a Federal office that works with other agencies to “fix technical problems, build products, and improve how government serves the public through technology.”

The Executive Director’s work will involve “advocating for an iterative, human-centered approach to building and buying software in government, and running the cost-recoverable consulting organization as a business.”

The Executive Director’s objectives will include:

  • “Determine 18F’s vision strategic direction, objectives and goals—including the overall planning, management and direction of the program”;
  • Build and maintain “effective internal and external working relationships to address issues of mutual interest” with various entities including Federal, state, and municipal governments; and
  • Provide executive leadership and equal employment opportunity responsibility.

The position will be located in Washington, D.C., with a base salary range of $137,849 to $166,500. U.S. citizens and nationals can apply, however applicants cannot already be GSA employees or contractors.
