The General Services Administration (GSA) has tapped Lauren Bracey Scheidt to serve as the new assistant commissioner for the Office of Solutions within the GSA’s Technology Transformation Service (TTS) organization, according to an official at the agency.
In her new role, Scheidt will work to help broaden the agency’s technological capabilities while simultaneously working on the GSA’s existing offerings including Login.gov and Cloud.gov.
“Lauren’s understanding of TTS’ technical and business operations along with her deep background in software product development make her a unique match for the needs of TTS,” stated Mukunda Penugonde, deputy director of TTS in an announcement to all agency staff.
Scheidt had served in several roles at TTS including acting deputy director, acting director, and senior advisor for the office.
Scheidt came to government service after working for over 10 years at NPR in various roles, among them as a senior director of product. She was also marking technology manager at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.
“Over the next few weeks we can expect a gradual transition from her current responsibilities to her new ones,” stated Penugonde.
