The General Services Administration (GSA) released the solicitation for the $5.5 billion 2nd Generation Information Technology (2GIT) blanket purchase agreements (BPAs), which will replace the existing NETCENTS-2 contract. Vendors have until April 18 to respond.
The 2GIT contract, administered in partnership with the Air Force, is estimated to support up to $1.1 billion in spending annually, with an estimated seven to 10 awards in total, according to a draft RFQ released in December. Vendors for the BPAs will come from IT Schedule 70, and will reach a customer base of Federal, state, and local governments.
The BPAs have five line items for vendors to compete in different IT categories. They are:
- Data Center
- End User
- Network
- Radio Equipment, and
- Order Level Material.
“The forthcoming 2GIT BPAs will provide the Government a fast and effective way to order IT hardware and software commodities, ancillary supplies and services at discounted prices with prompt, cost-effective delivery, while capturing economies of scale, fostering markets for sustainable technologies and environmentally preferable products, while simplifying data collection,” GSA said in an Interact blog post.
In addition to the solicitation release, GSA will be holding a pre-quotation conference on March 14 for prospective vendors.
