The General Services Administration (GSA) is on track to meet its Oct. 1 deadline to consolidate its 24 Multiple Award Schedules (MAS) into a single schedule, according to an agency news release.

GSA formalized its plan to consolidate its MAS in November 2018, with the deadline goal to release a new solicitation with “one easy-to-understand set of terms and conditions” by the end of fiscal year 2019.

“The new solicitation with its simplified format is going to make it much easier for customers to find and purchase the solutions they need to meet their missions,” GSA Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Alan Thomas said in the news release. “It will also make working with government easier by streamlining and simplifying the offer process for new contractors. One Schedule means vendors no longer have to manage contracts across multiple schedules.”

The news release further announced that GSA is currently providing industry with the final solicitation for review before its planned release at the beginning of October.

The new consolidated solicitation will have large and subcategories, and it has capabilities that allow feedback from customer agencies, internal personnel, and industry. The solicitation also has two Requests for Information.

The MAS consolidation is one of the four elements of the Federal Marketplace Strategy – GSA’s acquisition modernization and simplification initiative. The other components include enhancing GSA Advantage, removing the requirement for best interest determination, and officially launching beta.SAM.gov – where FedBizOpps.gov will migrate to in November.
