The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has awarded General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) a $712 million task order to resume work on infrastructure modernization of the agency’s St. Elizabeth’s Campus in Washington, D.C.
The task order – awarded initially in August but announced officially this week – has a one-year base period and six one-year options and will continue the work GDIT has been undertaking since initially getting the original contract in 2011.
“The scope of the Task Order will allow us to support new buildings and reimagine ways to provide a secure, reliable and cost-efficient IT infrastructure that meets the evolving mission requirements of DHS and its stakeholders,” said Tom Bruno, GDIT’s vice president and general manager, Homeland Security & Telecommunications.
GDIT will continue to develop up-to-date technology for the networking, telecommunications, and physical requirements the agency needs to execute mission goals. Additionally, GDIT will leverage these technologies to advance DHS’ cybersecurity needs.
