The Government Accountability Office (GAO) today released an updated version of a report it issued in July detailing major cybersecurity challenges facing the Federal government and critical actions needed to address them. The new report is substantially identical to the July version except that it contains additional appendices, a GAO official said. The latest report says that as of August 2018, about 1,000 recommendations–out of 3,000 that GAO has made to Federal agencies since 2010 on cybersecurity issues–still need addressing. The July report contained similar language.
