Former Federal CIO Suzette Kent, a champion of Federal IT modernization, has joined the Public Sector Advisory Board at Rubrik, a cloud data management company.

Kent stepped down from her role as Federal CIO last year, after a two-and-a-half-year tenure widely recognized for her success in promoting Federal IT modernization, and superb performance in leading the government’s quick turn to telework during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Rubrik brings key assets to an organization helping them manage and secure data within their environment, improving their data security posture,” Kent said. “Rubrik’s capabilities today, and the vision they have for the future, is what compels me to join its Public Sector Advisory Board.”

“Modernizing legacy systems and efficiently managing some of the world’s largest volumes of data requires leading capabilities,” she added. “Rubrik’s disruptive technology makes it a leading company to assist agencies with their digital transformation helping them meet modernization mandates.”

During her time as Federal CIO, Kent helped drive modernization through the President’s Management Agenda, oversaw the first comprehensive governmentwide Federal Data Strategy, and earned widespread praise from Federal CIOs for leading the government’s shift to telework during the pandemic.

“Suzette’s background and reputation in the market place were key reasons to add her voice to Rubrik’s Federal strategy,” said Rubrik’s Vice President of Public Sector Tom Kennedy. “This strategic addition to Rubrik’s Public Sector Advisory Board further demonstrates our commitment to the Federal market and to serving the unique needs of the Federal government customer.”
