The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking input from industry to help in the agency’s plans to develop a potential 10-year contract for acquiring commercially available IT products and services.

The FAA stated that the contract’s ceiling value will range between $5 billion and $10 billion for technical and professional support work covering the lifecycle management of IT assets, according to a notice posted on SAM.gov.

In addition, FAA clarified that it doesn’t want to buy customized technology under the contract; rather, the agency is interested in commercial-off-the-shelf products for this acquisition.

The notice signals several areas of interest, including network infrastructure components, personal computing devices, computer peripherals and accessories, audio and visual equipment, software to support the equipment, and cloud-based services.

In addition, the FAA is seek services in project management for special projects, system configuration and integration, physical site analysis, installations, equipment maintenance, training, and consulting services.

Small businesses are encouraged to respond to the notice, particularly those with service-disabled, veteran-owned, and 8(a) designations.

Responses to the request for information are due Jan. 6, 2023.
