The Department of Defense (DoD) announced the selection of SAP Concur for a $9.3 million contract to develop a new system to replace the current Defense Travel System. The new system will save more than 10 million labor hours, according to the Pentagon. “I’m proud of the work we’re executing through the Reform Management Group and initiatives like this from the Information Technology Reform Team,” said Chief Management Officer John H. Gibson. The Defense Travel System handles travel by more than two million personnel per year, and DoD spends $9 billion annually on travel. The Concur team will also include Accenture, Booz Allen Hamilton, and CWTSato Travel.
