The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is looking for information that will support the agency’s Advanced Analytics Platform For Machine Learning (CAP-M) Project – a program under development at the Cybersecurity Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) – to support new software and tools in a multi-tenant cloud environment.
The request for information (RFI) – which seeks responses by Jan. 5 from industry – is looking on behalf of the DHS Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) and Office of Mission and Capability Support (MCS) at to “[develop] complex machine learning capabilities” that will enhance program capabilities.
“CAP-M’s multi-cloud approach enables end users to seamlessly access a variety of capabilities across multiple clouds to meet their analytics and computation needs,” stated the agency.
The project is seeking information that would supply access to “three commercial clouds, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure to the CAP-M team,” stated the agency.
According to a program fact sheet published last year, “it will host experimentation in analyzing, correlating, and enriching data to prepare for and respond to threats. Lessons learned will be shared with partners in government, academia, and industry.”
The program will also enable CISA to counter ever-evolving cybersecurity threats by providing the agency “with capabilities to continually innovate to prepare for and respond to them,” the fact sheet says.
