The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) – an agency of the Department of Defense (DoD) that handles most of the Federal government’s personnel security vetting tasks – has chosen Edward Lane to serve as the new program executive officer (PEO) at DCSA.
In his new role, Lane will oversee IT portfolios that focus on supporting the Federal and defense services of DCSA operations. Those portfolios include the National Background Investigation Services (NBIS), National Industrial Security System (NISS), and the DITMAC System of Systems.
“Mr. Lane has a deep leadership and acquisitions background in both the private sector and government. He has prior military and government experience at the Under Secretary of Defense, Intelligence and Security and the National Reconnaissance Office,” said the DCSA
“His last federal position was as the Deputy Senior Acquisition Executive at the Defense Intelligence Agency where he led all acquisition and contracting to execute over $15 billion and over 2,200 annual contract actions across the spectrum of products, supplies, facilities, services, and development programs in support of the Intelligence Community and Combatant Commands,” the DCSA said.
Lane will officially begin his new role at the DCSA effective April 22.
“Mr. Lane’s proven record and demonstrated leadership skills make him ideally suited to fill this critical role at DCSA and he joins the agency at a very important time, as we review and recommit to the development of NBIS,” the DCSA said.
