On May 16, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will be hosting an Industry Day in Washington, D.C., to seek more information on 5G wireless networks protections. The Secure and Resilient Mobile Network Infrastructure Industry Day will be from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

DHS’ Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate seeks information on the following:

  • Protecting cell phone users from being tracked;
  • Protecting cell phone users from having calls and text messages monitored;
  • Developing security capabilities that leverage 5G technology to define methods for flexibility, Federal-controlled security policy, end-to-end security, and secure voice implementation for Federal users; and
  • Improving protections for mobile devices in managed mobile networks by monitoring traffic from mobile devices.

The solicitation is a five-year Broad Agency Announcement with a response date of June 26, 2019.
