The United States Army has elevated its Enterprise Cloud Management Office (ECMO) to the level of a Field Operating Agency (FOA), the Office of the Army CIO announced March 29.
As a result of the new designation, the new agency is now named the Enterprise Cloud Management Agency (ECMA) and will report to the Office of the CIO.
The agency’s mission statement is, “The ECMA increases Army readiness and lethality by continuously enhancing digital literacy; driving data, software and process transformation; and delivering a secure, globally dominant cloud ecosystem, foundational to the Army modernization strategy and digital overmatch,” according to the office of the Army CIO.
The change has already been made on the Army CIO’s website, which names former Cloud Office Director Paul Puckett III as the ECMA’s first agency director. Gregg Judge will also keep his title, transitioning from the deputy director of the ECMO to Puckett’s deputy director at ECMA.
The agency has five divisions: Cloud Management, Cloud Services, Cloud Solutions, Security Modernization, and Data and Software Services. ECMA has two listed vacancies in leadership and is looking for both a cloud architect and someone to head up the Data and Software Services Division.
