AmeriCorps, an independent Federal agency, has awarded General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) a five-year $95 million enterprise IT Services (eITS) contract.

AmeriCorps serves 40,000 communities across the country and promotes national service and volunteerism to solve critical issues.

According to a press release, the eITS contract will help to modernize AmeriCorps’ IT enterprise through “managed services, cloud, digital modernization, and cybersecurity services to support AmeriCorps’ operations. Services will include cloud management and integration, systems and application modernization, security management, and operations center support.”

The contract will include a base period of nine months, four option periods of one year, followed by one option period of three months.

GDIT said it will also leverage its relationship with cloud service provider Microsoft Azure to deliver a platform as a service offering.

“Our services will modernize AmeriCorps’ IT operations and increase overall productivity,” said Jylinda Johnson, GDIT vice president and general manager for Government Operations. “As a longtime partner, we are honored to support AmeriCorps and play our part in serving communities across America.”
