The Joint Authorization Board (JAB) has recently branded ServiceNow, which already has “more than 100 U.S. Federal government customers, such as NASA, the Department of Energy, and the Department of Defense,” with its coveted FedRAMP Provisional Authority to Operate (P-ATO) certification, according to a company press release.
“Given the rigorous requirements to achieve this level of compliance, which includes a greater depth of review than that of an agency-level authorization, Federal agencies can confidently choose the ServiceNow cloud to streamline their enterprise services,” said Steve Alfieris, ServiceNow Federal vice president. “ServiceNow can help free Federal agencies from the onus of maintaining legacy, on-premises tools—where 75% of their IT budgets are now spent. Our modern and agile platform will help agencies realize their mission objectives and citizen services.”
This move coincides with the Santa Clara, Calif.-based company’s launch of Security Operations, a platform designed to improve how organizations respond to security breaches and coordinate with IT groups. According to the press release, Security Operations will:
- Provide a single platform for managing security incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Prioritize security risks with business criticality.
- Automate mundane, manual functions to free up IT and security teams to address critical issues.
- Gain greater visibility into current security issues by category, class and priority, and status of tasks.
- ServiceNow will continue its task of modernizing IT systems for even more Federal agencies.
To date, JAB has granted P-ATO FedRAMP authorization to 25 cloud systems.
