The U.S. Army awarded the Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) two separate contracts totaling over $4 billion for modeling and simulation systems engineering and development.

Both contracts will support the Army Combat Capabilities Development Command, Aviation & Missile Center (DEVCOM AvMC), Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration (S3I) Directorate.

One contract – worth $800 million – allows SAIC to “provide various systems-of-systems modeling and simulation support to all branches of the Armed Services, multiple Program Offices, and others for development and improvements to their systems,” according to a press release.

The other contract is worth $3.6 billion and allows SAIC to “continue providing engineering services supporting the full life cycle for AvMC HWIL techniques for development and testing of embedded systems, as well as for force protection, trainers, and virtual, interactive and multimedia systems,” according to another press release.

“SAIC is honored to provide our exceptional modeling and simulation support services to S3I and DEVCOM AvMC,” said Gabe Camarillo, SAIC senior vice president, Army Business Unit. “We look forward to extending our support to the Army and our warfighters for many years to come.”

Both contracts were awarded under the General Services Administration’s One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services (OASIS) professional services contract.
