Mr. Azeem is an information technology leader and seasoned professional with over 15 years of technology management experience within the Federal Government and private sector performing program/project management involving complex IT systems and application software capabilities to satisfy
He currently serves as a Senior IT Project Manager for the General Services Administration managing complex and large dollar value IT projects for Federal and Defense agencies. Previously he has served as the Deputy Program Manager for US Treasury Department’s Electronic Federal Tax Payment
System (EFTPS); a High Value Asset (HVA). In his role, he exercised broad oversight and management of all technology and cybersecurity matters for the program and helped manage the over $120 million annual budget. Previously he has been responsible for modernization of Department of Defense’s travel system from a legacy custom solution to a COTS-based Software as a Service (SaaS) offering. Mr. Azeem started his Federal career at the US Department of Homeland where he worked on various IT programs of varying scope and complexity. He served as the Deputy Program Manager for a high-visibility TSA IT program to provide stakeholders a better understanding of risk data and information through an online knowledge portal with robust data fusion and analytics capability.
Prior to his Federal career, he worked on various IT projects as a contractor for the Department of Defense and Department of Health & Human Services. In his private sector career, has worked for notable national brands, such as, The Onion and Software & Information Industry Association.
He holds Master of Science (M.S.) and Applied Scientist (App.Sc.) degrees in Engineering Management from The George Washington University, where he also completed a Master’s Certificate in Enterprise Information Assurance. He completed his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Management Information Systems from the New York Institute of Technology. Mr. Azeem was distinguished and honored as a Bill & Melinda Gates Millennium Scholar from 2002 to 2013.
He enjoys keeping abreast with technological and economic trends, listening to music and working on personal technology projects. He resides in Northern Virginia with his wife and two children.
