Rob Stein

Rob Stein joined NetApp in December 2007. Mr. Stein has more than 30 years of experience supporting U.S. Public Sector customers, all focused on high technology solutions. He has held various positions including statistician, Program Manager, Business Development Manager, Sales Representative, and Senior Regional Director.

In his current position as the Vice President, U.S. Public Sector at NetApp, Mr. Stein leads a group of over 500 sales managers, systems engineers, solution specialists, and business developers as well as finance, operations, and marketing teams; who focus on data management and storage solutions for U.S. Public Sector customers. Prior to this role, Mr. Stein was a Vice President at NetApp and was responsible for the Federal Civilian Agencies business and Inside Sales. Immediately prior to NetApp, Mr. Stein spent 11 ½ years at Oracle Corporation, where he held various sales positions, including his last role as the Vice President of the DoD Team.

Mr. Stein began his career with BDM Corporation where he employed innovative statistical analysis techniques to assess the operational effectiveness of a Joint C2 system. Prior to joining Oracle, Mr. Stein worked at EDO Corporation delivering Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) Command and Control solutions to the Navy, Air Force, and NATO Defense forces.

He received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Systems Science and Mathematics from Washington University in St. Louis. He is a graduate of several courses in leadership, business operations, and IT solutions.

He and his wife, Eileen, live in Oakton, Virginia with their two children.
