Melinda Rogers was appointed as the Department of Justice’s Deputy Assistant Attorney General/Chief Information Officer in September 2020. Ms. Rogers is responsible for overseeing the Department’s $4.3 billion Information Technology (IT) investment portfolio, providing strategic IT direction, supporting mission operations through IT service delivery, and directing the Department’s Cybersecurity Program.

Prior to her designation as CIO, Ms. Rogers served as the Department’s Deputy Chief Information Officer, focusing on day-to-day operations including the planning, policy formulation, and coordination of mission activities, directing of technology and business process integration, and the implementation of hardware, software, security, and related policies and processes to support information technology across the Department. Before her position as Deputy CIO, Melinda served as Director for Cybersecurity Services and DOJ’s Chief Information Security Officer.

Before joining the Department of Justice in 2010, Ms. Rogers had extensive experience in the financial services sector in private industry, where she was Equifax’s Assistant Vice President for Fraud Prevention and Identity Verification Solutions, as well as NationsBank’s Assistant Vice President for Commercial Real Estate Lending. Ms. Rogers received her MBA from Emory University and is an alumna of George Mason University.
