Joanne Wright is Senior Vice President, Transformation and Operations. In this role she is responsible for delivering productivity across IBM, through the application of artificial intelligence on the hybrid cloud, to unleash innovation and growth for the company. By making IBM “Client Zero” – leveraging its technologies and those of its strategic partners to create a better employee and customer experience – IBM demonstrates for its clients how to achieve business outcomes through enterprise transformation at global scale.
Joanne leads the company’s operations, procurement, Chief Information Office, Chief Data and Analytics Office, and Global Real Estate organizations; and is committed to accelerating IBM’s digital transformation through global talent development and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
In her 25-year career at IBM, Joanne has held key leadership roles across procurement, manufacturing, supply chain, real estate, client support and operations. She has led the redesign of IBM’s operating model, quote-to-cash process, and as Chief Operating Officer for IBM Supply Chain, led the introduction of AI for a transparent, intelligent and predictive supply chain.
She is also a champion for empowering women leaders and expanding allyship. She is the head of the Women at IBM Community and started the company’s Women’s Business Resource Group. Joanne received the Female Executive of the Year, Stevie Award, in 2022 and 2019, and is a two-time recipient of the Fortune Most Powerful Women Next-Gen Award. She is a member of the Board of the United Way of Putnam & Westchester in New York.
Joanne holds a bachelor’s degree from Glasgow Caledonian University. She enjoys spending her personal time with her teenage twins and is an avid tennis, swimming, and cooking fan.
