The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) said today it is promoting to permanent titles Jeff Greene as the executive assistant director for cybersecurity, and Trent Frazier as the assistant director for stakeholder engagements.
Greene and Frazier have both been serving in those positions on an acting basis.
Greene took over for Eric Goldstein when he resigned as CISA’s executive assistant director for cybersecurity in May. Frazier has been a deputy assistant director at CISA since 2021.
In their new permanent positions, Greene oversees the protection of Federal civilian agencies and national infrastructure against cyber threats, while Frazier oversees national and international partnerships and directs shared engagement and coordination across the agency.
“Both Jeff and Trent bring a wealth of expertise and experience to these critical roles, and I’m grateful for their willingness to continue to serve our nation,” said CISA Director Jen Easterly in announcing the appointments.
“As America’s Cyber Defense Agency and the National Coordinator for critical infrastructure security and resilience, CISA’s efforts to reduce risk to the nation have never been more important and I’m proud of our ability to continue to attract top talent to lead our teams,” Easterly said.
Before coming to CISA, Greene served as a senior director at the Aspen Institute and on the White House National Security Council as the chief for cyber response and policy.
“CISA’s mission is more important than ever and the Cybersecurity Division’s work to improve the cybersecurity of our nation – both what the public sees and what goes on behind the scenes – would not be possible without the dedicated and talented people who make up the Division,” said Greene.
Before joining CISA, Frazier held leadership roles at the Department of Homeland Security, focusing on higher education protection, resilience and cross-border transportation workforce acquisition and management.
“I am excited to assume the role of Assistant Director and to continue the exceptional progress the Stakeholder Engagement Division has made in advancing CISA’s strategic collaboration across both government and industry over the past several years,” said Frazier. “I look forward to our next evolution, further solidifying meaningful engagement as a cornerstone to CISA’s success.”
